History
The Hamborn district of Duisburg is where gefeba Elektro GmbH was started in 1969. The company moved to Gladbeck in 1971, just two years after being founded. After the company relocation, gefeba set forth a continuous process of ongoing development.
The growing range of services, together with the integration of highly qualified specialist staff, provided the impetus for further changes. In 1990 gefeba’s growth rate was reflected in the construction of the new company facility at the current location on Dechenstrasse in Gladbeck. In the following year the company was honored by the municipal association of the Ruhr region with the award for exemplary commercial buildings.
The next logical step was made even before the turn of the millennium with the establishment of BAP Engineering GmbH, also based in Gladbeck. It further attested to gefeba’s advancement as a continuously growing SME. This was followed in 2000 by an extension of the company facility with an additional office wing. In 2005 the company facility was enhanced with a simulation center. This was followed in 2006 by a further addition: the completion of a CNC machining center for gefeba’s workshop production. gefeba grew once again on the premises of ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe AG. There, the inauguration of a new assembly and manufacturing facility was celebrated as a further milestone.
It became clear in 2009 that gefeba was having its own special impact in its development. The city of Gladbeck honored the work of the SME gefeba with an award for its ecologically-compatible operations.
Since 2015, gefeba has focused its sights even more intently on the future. The renaming of BAP Engineering GmbH as “gefeba Engineering GmbH” to consolidate planning capacity within the gefeba Group was just as much an expression of the corporate philosophy to consistently utilize synergies in the areas of expertise.
